PRB: Zetadocs PDF Client install fails when attempting to start services

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

When installing Zetadocs PDF Client, you may experience an installation failure during the ‘start services’ stage of the install. A notification message stating that the Printer Spooler service must be stopped may also appear. Zetadocs PDF installation rolls back and the product is not installed.


This is an intermittent fault caused by an incorrectly installed copy of the Zetadocs PDF printer. The Zetadocs PDF printer may be partially installed on the machine and cannot be removed through the installer.


Manually uninstall the printer (see ZTN4057-HOWTO: Manually uninstalling the Zetadocs PDF printer)


This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
