HOWTO: Manually uninstalling the Zetadocs PDF printer

Summary

There may be certain situations where the Zetadocs PDF printer cannot be uninstalled through standard procedures. In this case, a manual uninstall may be required in order to remove the printer drivers from the system.

More information

The following steps should be taken to remove the Zetadocs PDF printer:

1. Delete the Zetadocs PDF printer from the printers list in Windows.
2. Stop the print spooler service (in a command prompt window, type in the following command: net stop “Print Spooler”)
3.  Delete the following files if they exist:
   • In C:\Windows\System32\
     1. BiImgUser.dll
     2. BuEAppNT.exe
     3. BuEMonNT.dll
     4. BuEResNT.dll
     5. BuERmvNT.dll
     6. JPEG32.dll
     7. TIFF32.dll
   
   
   • In C:\Windows\System32\
     1. BuEDRVNT.dll
     2. BuEiniNT.ini
     3. BuEResNT.dll
     4. BuEUifNT.dll
     5. JPEG32.dll
     6. TIFF32.DLL
   
   
   • In C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\
     1. BuEDRVNT.dll
     2. BuEiniNT.ini
     3. BuEResNT.dll
     4. BuEUifNT.dll
     5. JPEG32.dll
     6. TIFF32.DLL
   • In C:\Windows\System32\prtprocs\w32x86\
     1. BuEProNT.dll
4. Delete any registry keys found under:
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Blackice Software, Inc.\EMFNT\
5.  Uninstall Zetadocs PDF Printer from Programs and Features.
6. Reboot the machine.
