PRB: Zetafax server upgrade fails with component move data error

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax 7 and later

Symptom

Zetafax server upgrade fails with component move data error and then an erroneous locate file error containing text relating to unable to locate a file from the following path: c:\zfax\server\brooktrout\install.exe.

Cause

The Zetafax configuration program (ZFSETUP) is open and the installation program is unable to update this file.

Resolution

Closing the Zetafax configuration program will allow the install to proceed correctly.

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
