PRB: Columns ending in a period do not get added to a SharePoint view

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

  • Zetadocs for NAV version 1.1 and later

Symptom

The NAV Company No., NAV Record No. and any other columns ending in a “.” do not get automatically added to a SharePoint Document Library View.

Cause

Columns that end with a “.” character cannot be programmatically added to a Document Library View.

Resolution

After the columns have been created, they need to be added to the view manually by doing the following:

  • Browse to the SharePoint Document Library.
  • From the right-hand ‘View’ menu, select the view that you want to modify.
  • From the same menu, now select ‘Modify this view’.
  • Select the columns that you want to add to the view.
  • Click OK

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
