HOWTO: Roll out the Zetafax client applications via Group Policy Print ZTN1647 ID: ZTN1647 This Zetafax technical note applies to: Zetafax 2007 and later Summary This technote outlines the process involved in rolling out the Zetafax client and printer via Group Policy More information Note:Users on Windows Server 2012 and 2008 should ensure the .Net 3.5 Framework has been installed. Start up Active Directory Users and Computers on a system within your network (this is normally found on a Domain controller system and you need to login with Domain administrator privileges). Right click domain, and select properties then click on the Group Policy tab. Select default domain policy and click edit. Browse to Computer configuration/Policies/Administrative templates/windows components/ windows installer. Double click " Always install with elevated privileges" and set it to enabled. Browse to User configuration/Administrative templates/windows components/ windows installer. Double click " Always install with elevated privileges" and set it to enabled. (a) Browse to computer configuration/Software Settings/Software installations, (b) Click Action, New, Package... (c) Browse to the Zetafax Printer.msi in the \Zetafax\ZF Printer for Group Policy\ folder. (NOTE: you must browse to it as a valid network path that can be resolved by all client Systems) If you do not have the ZetafaxPrinter.msi, you can download an appropriate version from the following links: Zetafax 2007 printer.msi Zetafax 2008 printer.msi Zetafax 2009 printer.msi Zetafax 2010 printer.msi Zetafax 2011 printer.msi Zetafax 2012 printer.msi Zetafax 2014 printer.msi Right click the Zetafax Printer package you have just created and select properties. Click on the deployment tab and verify that " install this application at logon is checked (you may need to click the " assigned" radio button to enable this option). (a) Browse to user configuration/Software Settings/Software installations. (b) Click Action, New, Package... (c) Browse to \Zfax\system\ folder (NOTE: you must browse to it as a valid network path that can be resolved by all client Systems) Add the ISScript1150.Msi and the Default.msi to the package and press ok. Select assigned then click OK. Right click the Zetafax Client Applications package you have just created and select properties. Click on the deployment tab and verify that " install this application at logon" is checked (you may need to click the " assigned" radio button to enable this option).
