PRB: Zetafax Outlook forms not used for received faxes
This Zetafax technical note applies to:
Some or all users open fax messages received from Zetafax as a normal message with a fax attachment even though the Zetafax Exchange connector has been configured to use the Zetafax Outlook forms.
The reason for this is that the option for either the Site or the recipient has the checkbox "Use Outlook forms for sent and received faxes (recommended)" unchecked. Messages for the entire Exchange Site or individual recipients are delivered by the Zetafax connector with the default Outlook form instead of the Zetafax received fax form.
The check box will need to be enabled on the Site and for any users who are not using the Site defaults. To achieve this follow the instructions below:
- Open the Exchange Administrator Console (ADMIN.EXE), select the Exchange Site and choose File | Properties from the menu bar.
- On the 'Zetafax Options' tab, check "Use Outlook forms for sent and received faxes (recommended)". If the check box is disabled then all users by default will not receive faxes that use the Zetafax Outlook forms.
If individual users are not receiving messages with the Zetafax Outlook forms then they will have the Site defaults disabled under their Exchange Recipient configuration.
- Using ADMIN.EXE select the user in the recipient container. Choose file | Properties from the menu bar.
- Select the Zetafax Options tab and check the "Use Outlook forms for sent and received faxes (recommended)" checkbox.
This functionality is by design.
