PRB: Zetadocs PDF button is missing when I open Word

ID: ZTN3502

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

  • Zetadocs PDF Version 1.0

The Getting started guide references a Zetadocs PDF button, but when opening Microsoft Word the button is not there.

Word was open during the Zetadocs PDF install. This can also happen if Microsoft Outlook was open and you are using Word as your email editor.

Follow these steps to make the Zetadocs PDF button available:

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Open Word and choose Tools> Templates and Add-Ins..
  3. Locate the Global templates and add-ins section and check the Zetadocs PDF.dot add-in.

  1. Click OK.
  2. If Zetadocs PDF.dot is not listed, you will need to copy it to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\ < version> \STARTUP from the Zetadocs PDF installation folder (where < version> is Office11 for Microsoft Office 2003, Office10 for Microsoft Office XP and Office for Microsoft Office 2000).

If you downloaded Zetafax PDF from the web, the default location for the extracted files will be C:\Documents and Settings\< username> \Local Settings\Temp\Zetadocs PDF\program files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\STARTUP.

  1. Close Word and reopen it. You should now see the Zetadocs PDF button.
