PRB: Outlook message files (.msg) are not deleted from Document Queue after archiving due to file locking

Symptom

An Outlook .MSG file cannot be deleted from the Zetadocs document queue either manually or as part of the automatic deletion function after archiving the item. The error below is displayed:

Cause

The file is an Outlook message (.msg file).  However, even after closing the message the file is still locked.  This is due to the actual Outlook process (Outlook.exe) maintaining the lock and not just the message window.

Resolution

For any users who may have opened the .msg file from the document queue folder, they must close Outlook entirely to release the lock.

We would advise not to open the .msg file before copying it to the document queue folder.  If it needs to be opened in order to be checked, make another copy of it before moving to the document queue.

Once the file has been converted and appears in the queue within the NAV client, open it using the Zetadocs PDF viewer.  This way the original .msg file is not locked by Outlook.

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
