FIX: Zetafax client install fails to install the correct printer on Windows NT4 terminal server

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

Symptom

When users print to the Zetafax Faxmerge printer in a NT4 terminal server client session, the addressing dialog box is not presented to the user. This is a change in behaviour from previous versions of Zetafax.

Cause

When administrators install and configure the Zetafax client on a Windows NT4 terminal server the Zetafax client installation program (Wksetup.exe) installs the incorrect printer configuration for NT4 terminal server.

This is due to the installation program failing to detect that the version of Windows NT4 is terminal server. As a result the normal Windows NT4 workstation/server printer configuration is installed.

Resolution

Equisys has provided an updated client installation program which correctly recognizes the NT4 terminal server operating system. This is available from the Equisys website as a separate download for Zetafax users.

This issue is resolved by applying a Client installation program update (ZFCUIN_75074).

Status

This behaviour was corrected in the update mentioned above.
