FIX : Sending SMS to invalid number causes Zetafax Server to crash

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax Server Version 2011
  • Zetafax Server Version 2012

Symptom

With certain mobile networks and device configurations, sending to an invalid number (for instance, adding an extra digit to a valid number) will cause the Zetafax Server to crash.

Cause

This was due to a bad logging line that is hit when a certain command is fed back to the Zetafax Server SMS device controller.

Resolution

This issue has been resolved in the Zetafax 2012 Platform Feature Pack, available for download here. This update is available free of charge to existing Software Assuancre customers and can be accessed using the password provided in your Software Assurance newsletter.
