PRB: French error message when viewing Person options in Lotus Notes

Print

ZTN1364

ID: ZTN1364

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax 6 and higher
  • Lotus Notes R5 and R6

Symptom

After installing the Zetafax Options in Lotus Notes, you may receive the following warning when you edit the settings of a Person in the Domino Administrator:

Translated into English, this error means "The default Zetafax Options are not configured. Please create the default Zetafax Options document in the view which bears this name".

If you click OK on this warning, you can edit the Person options as normal.

Cause

When the Zetafax Options for Lotus Notes are installed, they add Zetafax extensions to the Person form in Lotus Notes. However, they do not automatically create a default view for this form. The message appears in French because the Zetafax Options were originally designed by a French company.

Resolution

To resolve the issue that this warning indicates, follow these instructions. Although these screenshots are from Lotus Domino R5, the same procedure applies to R6.

  1. In the Domino Administrator, go to View, Zetafax, Default Options

  1. Click the Create Options action button.

  1. This creates a default form. Keep the defaults and click on the Save & Close button.

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
