PRB: EPSTIFF reports no pages in message

Print

ZTN1177

ID: ZTN1177

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax version 7.0.0.26

Symptom

Faxes submitted from Outlook that only contain a subject line and coversheet set to 'none' are rejected by the e-mail gateway as "No pages in message". When viewing the Zetafax server log messages, this error is reported by EPSTIFF.

Cause

When the Zetafax server receives this message it attempts to populate the coversheet with the subject line text, as no coversheet is selected it rejects the message and notifies the submitting user that the fax has failed. If the message contains body text and no coversheet is selected, then the subject line is ignored and only the body text of the e-mail message is faxed to the recipient.

Resolution

Faxes composed in Outlook that only contain a subject line and no body text must be submitted to Zetafax with a coversheet selected.

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
