To support over 10 users, a server operating system is required (e.g. Windows Server 2022).
To support over 25 users, multiple fax lines or when using the Email Gateway, we recommend you use a dedicated fax server.

Fax devices

• Zetafax supports these fax devices:
• Brooktrout intelligent fax boards (see below)
• Brooktrout SR140 (FoIP) when purchased as part of the Zetafax Fax over IP Connector
• Most Class 1, Class 2, Class 2.0 and Class 2.1 fax modems
• Dialogic Diva intelligent fax boards

• Zetafax supports these fax types:
  • Standard mode (200x100 dpi), Fine mode (200x200 dpi)
  • Group 3 Fax

Supported Brooktrout/Dialogic boards and FoIP software

Zetafax Server provides support for a variety of Brooktrout and Dialogic intelligent fax boards. The type of board that you choose should be based upon the Operating System that you install the Zetafax Server on and also on your faxing requirements. What is E1/T1?

 E1/T1 refers to the type of line that is attached to the Brooktrout board. T1 lines are commonly found in the USA, and can be either T1-ISDN or T1-Robbed-bit. E1 lines are ISDN. Both of these types of line are also referred to as PRI (Primary Rate ISDN)

Please note that the following board combination is not supported on the same machine:

• Trufax boards and TR1034 boards

File formats

• Most graphics file formats (including ASCII, BMP, DCX, EPS bitmaps, GIF, JPEG, PCX, PICT, Targa, and TIFF) can be submitted to the Zetafax Server and sent as faxes.
• As an option, you can license the Zetafax Document Conversion add-on. It allows the Zetafax Server to convert over 225 document file types into fax format, without access to the authoring application.
• To send any other file format as a fax, you can print from the application that created it.
