HOWTO: Install Zetafax Fax Approval feature

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax Version 9.1 and later


This document describes the process of installing and configuring the Zetafax Fax Approval Feature.

This feature is provided as an update for Zetafax Version 9.1 systems and later only. Users with previous versions will have to upgrade their Zetafax server system prior to installing this update.

If using an earlier version of Zetafax 9 than 9.1 the updated Outlook forms and extensions can be downloaded from the Updates for Zetafax 9 section on the Equisys website.

Note: For versions later than 9.1 this update is included by default.

Once the update has been downloaded you need to work through the following steps.

  1. Logon onto a networked PC as a valid Domain and Exchange user.
  2. Extract the downloaded file to an empty folder.
  3. Start Outlook (Note: Not Outlook Express) to logon onto your Exchange mailbox.
  4. In Outlook go to File> Open> Outlook Data File.
  5. Browse to the extracted folder and open Zetafax.pst in the ZfForms folder. You should now have a Zetafax folder in outlook
  6. Browse to Forms folder and open the message with the subject "Install the forms". Depending on the version of Exchange server you are using follow the appropriate instructions to install the forms.
  7. When following the instructions in Step 3: Install the Zetafax Outlook Extensions on Outlook Clients, use the recently downloaded extensions and not the ones located on your product CD.

Note: Users who are upgrading will only have to click on the "Install Forms" button to update the forms on the Exchange server and update the extension on client systems.
