Summary

This technote details how to change the logged in user and Zetafax Server location when the login prompt is disabled. This may be required when temporarily logging in as another user, or if the Zetafax Server location has changed.

There are 2 methods to change the logged in user and Zetafax Server location:

1.    Using the Zetafax Client:

  • Open the Zetafax Client as your current user.
  • Navigate to the Options tab in the ribbon.
  • Select Customise.
  • Ensure the ‘Prompt for username at startup’ option is checked.
  • Click Ok and restart the client. The login prompt should appear.

2.    Changing a registry key (this option may be required if the user is unable to open the client when the Zetafax Server has changed and the old server has already been decommissioned):

WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Equisys cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved.

  • Open the registry editor (Start -> Run -> regedit).
  • Locate the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Equisys\Zetafax\Client
  • Change the value of PromptLogin to 1
  • Start the Zetafax Client. The login prompt should appear.
