FIX: Unable to release held faxes submitted via ZSUBMIT

Print

ZTN1088

ID: ZTN1088

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax 7.00.0.26

Symptom

When using the ZSUBMIT command 'Hold: Yes' in a submit file, the fax will be successfully held for preview in the user's Zetafax client, but cannot be subsequently released.

Note: This technical note does not apply to earlier versions of Zetafax.

Cause

Rush, Hold and Release actions are enabled/disabled according to the control file of a particular fax highlighted in the Outbox.  The Zetafax 7.00.0.26 client does not interpret the control file correctly when faxes are submitted using ZSUBMIT.

Resolution

This issue is resolved by applying the Zetafax update (ZFUPD_V75191.EXE). This is available on the Equisys web site www.equisys.com/updates as a separate download for Zetafax 7 users.

The Zetafax client install program (WKSETUP.EXE) is installed when you update the Zetafax server, in the zfax\SYSTEM\ directory on the Zetafax server PC.  As this is a client side fix, WKSETUP needs to be run on each client computer, to update the Zetafax client.

Status

This behaviour was corrected in the above mentioned release.
