This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

  • Zetadocs v9.1 and below

Symptom

You are seeing the following error message when trying to authenticate to SharePoint via the Zetadocs, while using Multi-Factor Authentication:

Error Message: Failed to authenticate. Unable to login. Please check your username and password.

More information

To enable this to work with Zetadocs you will need to use user app passwords within Office365 for each user that is trying to authenticate while MFA is enabled. To use user app passwords, please see the following technote from Microsoft:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/multi-factor-authentication/end-user/multi-factor-authentication-end-user-app-passwords
