PRB: Zetafax Printer fails to install (error -15)

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax v9 and later

Symptom

When installing the Zetafax Client, the install stops with an error message that reads:

"Unable to install printer driver. -15"

Cause

The problem occurs on machines running Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1).

Resolution

The resolution to this problem is to first install the Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, and then install the Zetafax Client.  The install error should not occur under Windows XP Service Pack 2

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
