Installing Zetadocs for NAV using Group Policy

Those intending to roll out their system using Group Policy should first complete their Zetadocs Server install as per the steps in the Zetadocs for NAV v6.1 Installation guide. Once that is complete you should use the instructions in this section to roll out the system across your client machines.

Overview

  • Make sure Dynamics NAV  installed
  • Setup Group Policy
  • Group Policy will install Zetadocs for NAV
  • Roll out extra settings. For example Language setting, update changes

Prerequisites

As Zetadocs for NAV is integrated with NAV, make sure Microsoft Dynamics NAV is installed on the domain client machines.

.Net Framework

Zetadocs for NAV requires the .Net Framework version 3.5 on each client machine that it is installed on.  Our solution is dependent on the .net framework version 3.5.  This will be installed on most systems already if they are using Vista or Windows 7. For machines that it is not already rolled out on it can be installed using a number of methods which are documented by Microsoft here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa480217.aspx

Zetadocs for NAV Prerequisites

Zetadocs for NAV requires a number of third party components to be installed for it to function correctly.  These are:

  • Microsoft Office 2007 Primary Interop Assemblies (only required if using office 2007)
