FIX: Some RTF attachments render incorrectly

This Zetafax technical note applies to:

  • Zetafax Server v2009 and earlier.

Symptom

Attaching an RTF file to a new fax message in the Zetafax API (COM API, C API and Z-SUBMIT) results in the RTF file being rendered as control codes, rather than as readable text.

Cause

The problem is caused by a null character that can appear in some RTF documents – particularly those created using WordPad.

Resolution

A hotfix is available for this issue. Please contact Technical Support for further information.
