This Zetafax technical note applies to:
Outlook 2000 users may receive the following error message when they attempt to open, insert, or save attachments in Outlook:
"Can't create file: Fax1.G3N. Right-click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click Properties in the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder."
Also Users may subsequently be presented with a blank received fax form and the following error message:
" Error viewing image"
This behavior is due problems that can occur with some attachments types or if the "Outlooksecuretempfolder" contains too many files.
The Outlooksecuretempfolder area contains too many files causing error messages when viewing images in the Outlook client. The location of this folder is referenced in the Microsoft Article below:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;268744
By default this location could be C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK3. However check the Microsoft article for the registry key that will point you towards this folder, as it may be different in your environment. If there is a build up of G3Fs and TIFs in this folder, deleting them should enable you to view faxes again.
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
