Android 16 support and sign-in performance improvements

This article describes the new features and other improvements in the June 2025 update of the Zetadocs Expenses service.

Feature enhancements

This release contains the following enhancements:

Android 16 support

The Expenses mobile app for Android has been validated against Android 16.

Sign-in performance

Introduced a new setting to limit the amount of data Zetadocs Expenses retrieves when a user signs in. This helps to improve the performance of the initial sign-in process on systems, where users may have many years' worth of data that can take a long time to retrieve.

This new setting can be found in the System Settings -> User Experience -> Client Sign in Data Limit (months).

Additionally, users can override this system setting for their individual devices via the Settings screen on the Zetadocs Expenses clients. This allows heavier users to further reduce the data limit for faster sign in, or for other users to extend the data limit to view more historical expenses for auditing.

Quality and performance improvements

This update includes various improvements including the following:

Performance optimization for report submission/delegation screens

For users who have a large list of approvers and processors in the report submission or delegation screens, the performance has been improved so these user lists load faster.

Users were able to select expenses outside of the 'Period Start Date' and 'Period End Date' range of an expense report

Fixed a bug where users could see expenses that were outside the date range specified on the report.

Receipts list entries shown in a dark, lower contrast color when in dark mode

Improved visibility of entries in the receipts list on an expense when in dark mode.

Some custom property values are missing from the Expenses client

Resolved an issue where in some circumstances, if a custom property value has been deleted in the past, and the value is re-added later, then that value may not appear on the drop down for the custom property.

Default approver and/or processor drop downs are empty when creating a new user

Fixed a problem when a new user is being created and added to a group, the default approver and/or processor drop downs are empty even if the approver or processor is allowed to approve for that group.

Additional upgrade steps

Extension for Business Central

This release is compatible with all previous versions of the Extension for Business Central. However, if you are using a previous version, we recommend that you upgrade to the latest version to benefit from stability and performance improvements.

NAV Server Components

The NAV Server Components have not been updated in this release.

This release is compatible with previous versions of the NAV Server Components (versions 3.4.24081 and later).

The Zetadocs Expenses Connector Windows service is installed on your NAV Server computer and manages communication between the Zetadocs server and the Zetadocs NAV Server Components.

The Zetadocs Expenses Connector Windows service can be updated simply without affecting your NAV system.  Please contact Equisys for more information.

Reporting Template

The PowerBI Reporting Template has not been updated in this release.

Mobile apps

Installed mobile apps will be updated automatically on mobile devices where this is enabled
