This Zetafax technical note applies to:
Symptom
A user cannot send faxes and the Zetafax server shows errors:
EPSTIFF - (E) - Parameters too long
QUEUEMAN - (E) - Error converting message (0xF212)
Cause
Zetafax accepts Zetafax usernames that have a maximum of 8 characters, with no dots, spaces or special characters.
Therefore Zetafax usernames with dots or spaces will cause the errors above. When Zetafax users are added manually (Zetafax Configuration Program - Zetafax users - Add new Zetafax user), you will be prompted if the username is invalid with the following message:
Zetafax setup error!
Username invalid - use only A-Z, 0-9, '_' or '-'
However when Zetafax users are created by enabling NT users from Active Directory, usernames are not checked for validity.
Note: Usernames are automatically truncated if they contain too many characters.
Resolution
Zetafax usernames must only contain A-Z, 0-9, '_' or '-'.
You should recreate the Zetafax username with only these characters i.e. no dots, spaces or special characters.
Status
This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
