HOWTO: Upgrade to Zetadocs Server v4.1

This technote explains how to perform an upgrade of Zetadocs Server to the latest version.

To upgrade to version 4.1, follow the steps below:

1. Download the latest version of the Zetadocs Server from Equisys website.
2. Run the Zetadocs Server installer.
3. You will be asked if you want to upgrade your Zetadocs Server, select Yes.
4. Follow the wizard to accept the software licence agreement (if it shows up) and complete the installation. When installation completes, the Zetadocs Server Configuration Tool will open.
5. The Zetadocs Server Configuration tool is used to authorize on behalf of the user that will upload the document Queue files to the SharePoint site. There is one field that needs filling in:

6. Authorize the Zetadocs on behalf of the user by clicking the Authorize button and following the Microsoft log-in and consent on the opened web browser window.

• This authorization process should not need to be repeated in the future unless there is a 90-days or more where the Zetadocs Server has not processed any documents or the user account credentials or roles have changed. This 90-days period may differ based on your Azure settings.

7. Test and Save your settings then close the Zetadocs Server Configuration Tool.

• This will save your credentials securely on the PC running the Zetadocs Server Configuration Tool. Only the user who runs the configuration tool can access the credentials.

8. Open the Windows services application and go to the Zetadocs Document Converter entry. Right click on the entry and go to properties.
9. Go to the Log On tab and change the account to be the user account that executed the Zetadocs Server Configuration tool. Click Apply afterward to save the changes.

If you also require OCR support and do not already have the Zetadocs OCR Engine installed, then:

1. Download the latest version of the Zetadocs OCR Engine installer, this will install the latest Abbyy FineReader Engine and Abbyy license service.
2. The Abbyy license manager will be displayed at the end of the installation.
3. Enter the Zetadocs OCR Engine upgrade license you’ve been given and activate your license.

NOTE: For Zetadocs Server (v3.0 and later) the OCR Engine license prefix is SWxx-, for Zetadocs Server v2.3 and earlier license number prefix is FExx-. Customers on an active Zetadocs Software Assurance contract with a Zetadocs OCR license number starting with FExx- will first need to request their free upgrade license starting with SWxx- ahead of performing the upgrade to Zetadocs Server version 3.0.
