FIX: Customer / Vendor / Debtor / Creditor rule does not allow email addresses with special characters in Zetadocs for GP

This Zetadocs technical note applies to:

• Zetadocs for GP 2.5.1.3 and lower.

Symptom

Creating a new Customer / Vendor / Debtor or Creditor rule and specifying an email address with a dot or hyphen character in the first part of the email address (before the ‘@’ character) will fail during Send and prompt an error mentioning that the address is invalid.

Cause

This was caused by the incorrect processing of special characters in Zetadocs for GP.

Resolution

1. Contact Equisys technical support and request and download the hotfix, quoting technote number ZTN4127.
2. Make sure Dynamics GP as well as the Zetadocs PDF Client are closed.
3. Browse to the following location, depending on the machine architecture:

            C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\AddIns\

Or for 32 bit machines:

            C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\AddIns\

Note: for Dynamics GP version 2010, the folder is named ‘GP2010’ instead of ’GP’.



4. Rename the file named Zetadocs.GP.AddIn.dll to Zetadocs.GP.Addin_backup.dll.
5. Paste into the directory the file named Zetadocs.GP.Addin.dll from the patch folder.
6. Restart Dynamics GP.
   
   
   

Status

This has been identified by Equisys as a problem with the software versions given above.
