What's new in Timemaster

The latest update to Timemaster for users with a current Software Assurance contract is now available for download:

Automated timesheet chasing

Chasing staff to complete weekly timesheets is a common practice we hear about all too often. The Finance team were having to check for any incomplete timesheets and then chase specific staff members to ensure their timesheets were completed so that all time-charges could be invoiced in a timely manner. Failure to perform this task would have an adverse effect on cash flows and revenue streams!

Timemaster has the ability to manually send emails out to these staff but, as it was a manual process, it was often overlooked.

We have now implemented the ability for Timemaster administrators to schedule emails to be sent to their staff. Once the schedule is set up, it will trigger automatically at the defined day and time and therefore prompt staff to complete their timesheets. Multiple schedules can be created offering the ability to continually nudge the staff for their timesheet completion.

Streamlining absence requests

When creating absence requests, staff members navigate to My Absence Requests to do so. Often they need to cross reference the Absence Chart to ensure their request does not conflict with colleague's requests.

We felt we could make this process a bit more efficient by adding the ability to create absence requests directly from the Absence Chart.

Line managers will also find this addition useful when approving requests or creating ad-hoc absences for their subordinates for example when they call in ill.

Improving project visibility

The project listing views: 'Profitability', 'Target', and 'Limit' list the user's favourite projects to ensure these views are populated efficiently.

However this is not the ideal view for the finance team as they needed to ensure each project was added to their favourites list otherwise they would lose visibility of all projects on the views.

We've now added a configuration setting to override this behaviour for specific users, so they'll have visibility of all projects without having to remember to add to favourites.

Faster timesheet approval

Finance teams can find it a very time consuming process to approve or even finalize each staff member's individual timesheets. We have now introduced a multi-select option on the Timesheet Control page to provide a quicker way of progressing the status of these timesheets and avoid bottlenecks that could hold up the invoicing run.

With the multi-select option ticked you can select multiple timesheets and pop up the Timesheet Status panel which allows you to select which status you would like to change the selected timesheets to.

These are just a few of the highlights in this release, we also continue to add other features in response to users' requests, including a number of fixes all detailed in the release notes.

All the enhancements above are available at no extra cost to all customers on an active support plan.
