What's new in Timemaster

The latest update to Timemaster for users with a current Software Assurance contract is now available for download:

  • Windows client version 4.4.0
  • Web version 4.4.0
Resourcing enhancements

Professional services organizations use Timemaster’s resource planning to more accurately predict profitability, oversee visibility of staff availability and over-commitment, and be able to forecast pipeline resource requirements.

This release of Timemaster makes it simpler to perform what-if resourcing scenarios without committing to those changes until you choose to save them. It adds the option to toggle from a single view of resources allocated per task, to one that gives visibility of all the resources assigned to all tasks for a particular project.

Resourcing enhancements

Inline editing of allocated hours and visibility of the available staff resources makes it much easier to see if there are other staff that can be substituted, and how those changes impact not only on task outcomes, but also the overall profitability of the project.

Complex multi-service projects can be filtered by service and tasks can be collapsed and expanded, optimising the visible area of screen to only the specific tasks you are reviewing.

Cross tab reporting summaries

We’ve made it easier to analyze timesheet costs in this release. Customers are now able to summarize on Resource Cost, Recharge Cost, and Prime Cost within a single Timesheet Costs Cross Tab view. With this new development customers can now see the figures side-by-side.

We have also added the option to view summaries of both the Hours and the Days alongside the summarized cost data, giving a more flexible view of the time worked in the specified period.

Chargeability widget

Having a simple way to view your individual chargeability levels alongside your personal target is helpful, both in terms of tracking your personal utilization, but also being able to view any trends over a period.

To help you find this information more easily, we’ve added a new Chargeability widget to your Timemaster Home Page so that you can more easily track if you are on target for the week and how you have historically spent your time.

Simply choose a relevant timeframe and then hover over a particular period to view a pop-up of how your time for that period was allocated.

Streamlined expense checking

Checks and approvals of out of pocket expenses is a regular routine for most professional services organizations. Timemaster aids this area by being able to adapt and cater for companies' particular expense approval workflows.

This release streamlines the validation process further by giving expense checkers the ability to edit the expense, saving the loopback to the submitter to recode the expense. Thus making the entire approval process more efficient and reduces delays to project billing.

Absence verification

Absence verification in Timemaster is an optional additional step in the approval process where leave requests are checked after they have been approved, typically by someone in HR before being granted.

Timemaster now helps make this step simpler by providing a new option on the Approve Absences screen that toggles the list of absences from those waiting for approval to verification.

Other great changes and fixes

We also continue to add other features in response to users' requests, including a number of fixes all detailed in the release notes.

All the enhancements above are available at no extra cost to all customers on an active support plan.
