This article describes the new features and other improvements in the September 2025 update of the Zetadocs Expenses service.

Feature enhancements 

This release contains the following enhancements: 

Free text support for custom properties 

A new ‘Input Type’ option is now available when configuring Custom Properties. 

When set to Text, the Custom Property can be displayed on the New Expense screen that users can then enter free text into. These values can be exported to the OData Reporting Feed if required. 

Quality and performance improvements 

This update includes various improvements including the following: 

Expense and report quality improvements 

A number of issues have been resolved on the expense and report screens: 

• Payments were able to be linked to expenses on approved payment card report. Thelink button has now been removed on approved reports with the linking option available on draft or in-progress reports only. 
• Changing custom property value on an expense does not update list of values on a dependent child property. 
• 'Attempt to save Expense/Vehicle/Payment Card Report has failed' error is shown instead of a 'Please correct error(s) before saving' popup message being displayed (when saving a report with an empty description field). 
• Unable to re-match a payment card report payment after deleting a previously matched expense. 
• 'Unable to enable payment method' error when trying to enable a disabled payment method. 

Additional upgrade steps 

Extension for Business Central 

This release is compatible with all previous versions of the Extension for Business Central. However, if you are using a previous version, we recommend that you upgrade to the latest version to benefit from stability and performance improvements. 

NAV Server Components 

The NAV Server Components have not been updated in this release. 

This release is compatible with previous versions of the NAV Server Components (versions 3.4.24081 and later). 

The Zetadocs Expenses Connector Windows service is installed on your NAV Server computer and manages communication between the Zetadocs server and the Zetadocs NAV Server Components. 

The Zetadocs Expenses Connector Windows service can be updated simply without affecting your NAV system.  Please contact Equisys for more information. 

Reporting Template 

The PowerBI Reporting Template has not been updated in this release. 

Mobile apps 

Installed mobile apps will be updated automatically on mobile devices where this is enabled.
